WHAT IF WE ARE NOT BROKEN?
Being able to even consider this question was the first of many gifts of mindfulness. I had never before operated under the assumption that I was already enough. Instead, it had been years of endless schemes to fix and improve myself, or at the very least, hide the worst of me.
Mindfulness was so simple and yet completely radical in its kindly invitation to begin rebuilding the essential friendship with myself as I already was. Not when I lost or gained weight, not once I stopped making that mistake again, not once I had complete mastery over ugly cries. Right then. Just as I already was.
Whatever your struggles and challenges, mindfulness will not fix them and it will not fix you because you are not broken. What the practice of mindfulness will do is begin to gently remind you of your own innate strength, wisdom and deeply compassionate heart.

And it can be cultivated through practice. I am a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher and a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher, and it is my deep joy and privilege to share these programs.
